![]() My computer is kind of old and just got Resolve 16 working well so im kind of hesitant to update, but if it is a know solution, let me know. ![]() Happened to start learning with mp4 encoded files so didn't notice at first. Currently almost all my videos are unsuable. Of a fairly large library, about 95% are this format. They videos are old tv shows and various clips from a variaety of sources (youtube, archives, ect.) so i cant re-encode them. The videos play fine in all media players and other programs (VLC, MPC, Shotcut, ect.) so im not sure what the issue is. I also saw something about a H.265 setting in the "Decode" section of the prefrences, but didnt see anything. ![]() ![]() I've tried to search for something similar for Win7 but not exactly sure what to look for. I've searched the forum and found something about installing a codec app, but that is for Windows 10. I read that resolve coude use h.246 files but may have misunderstood. I know some basics about codecs but am still very novice. The main diffrence i've tracked down between working files and "Offline" files is that the "Offline" files are encoded in H.264. mp4 files, some work but most dont (.avi dont even show up). This is on startup when i search in the disk location of the file. The main issue i have encountered is almost all my videos files show up as "Media Offline" in the Media Pool explorer section, making them unusable. Using windows 7 (64bit) & Da Vinci Resolve 16 free edition I'll be as detailed as possible to save time on back-and-forth, but the main questions are at the bottom. Very new to Resolve and really need some help. Nothing I've done has had any effect, and I've been at it all day - there might be stuff I've tried that I've forgotten, but I'm open to literally anything at this point, including any Dark Gods that you know might be willing to do favors for a sacrifice or two.Hello. Then created a new Library on the SSD, exported the project from the other library then imported it into the new one, and re-linked all the clips, audio and media (including the unaffected stuff like voiceover and so on) to the new copies on the SSD. So I got a fresh SSD and copied all the files that the timeline has been using over to it. At this point I thought maybe it was the drive, it was kind of old at this point. Copied the clips from that timeline into a new timeline in a new project Copied the clips from that timeline into an entirely new timeline Turned off "Decode H.264/H.625 using hardware acceleration" in the Decode Options Cleared render cache via "Playback > Delete render cache > all" I feel like I've tried every damn thing, so I'm just going to list it all here: It's just these few clips for some reason. Everything plays fine in the the timeline playback in the editing tab, and as far as I can tell, everything in the timeline is linked to clips that I can play outside of Davinci in something like VLC without issues.īut when I render the timeline, the two main clips and their associated audio show up as "media offline." I have separate audio recorded that's playing fine, other images and some clips besides these ones also play fined in the rendered file. I've been editing a timeline for awhile now, it's about 50m long, and primarily uses about five or six long clips that have been cut up and put in place. For context, I'm using a Win 11 machine and running DR 18.5.
